Technical area
The field of the invention is that of sorting of objects carried out in logistics platforms.
The invention relates more particularly to an item of sorting equipment comprising a flat conveyor of the chain type with carrying links designed to convey the objects to sorting outlets in a certain conveying direction.
Prior art
Also called "dividers", flat conveyors of the chain type with load-bearing links are used in logistics platforms to sort all types of objects such as packages, parcels, bottles, etc.
These conveyors generally comprise a main conveyor with sorting outlets distributed downstream in the conveying direction and a separator making it possible to divert the objects to the appropriate sorting outlets.
Some of these conveyors, such as that described in document US Pat. No. 3,580,379 are equipped with a sliding link chain on which the objects are conveyed.
The links here play the role of the separator by sliding transversely to the conveying direction to orient and direct the packages to secondary conveyors leading to appropriate sorting outlets.
If this type of conveyor is highly appreciated for its reliability in conveying objects, it is however not very suitable for sorting objects with high throughput and high density.
In fact, the more the number of objects to be sorted increases, the more the number of secondary conveyors and sorting outlets must be large.
It follows that the sliding amplitude of the links is increased to guarantee the supply of objects to all sorting outlets.
The size of the conveyors then becomes too large for use in a logistics platform.
Statement of the invention
The object of the invention is therefore to remedy the aforementioned problems.
To this end, the subject of the invention is an item of sorting equipment comprising a flat conveyor of the chain type with carrying links designed to convey the objects to sorting outlets in a certain conveying direction, said links being mounted sliding. on the chain transversely to the conveying direction, characterized in that the sorting outlets are arranged under the chain links one after the other in the conveying direction and said links are arranged to slip under the objects when 'they are slid in order to drop the objects in the sorting outlets and in that it comprises a control / command unit designed to control the sliding of the links according to the sorting outlets into which the objects are to be sorted.
The basic idea of the invention is therefore to arrange the sorting outlets under the chain links and to slide the links transversely to the conveying direction, in the manner of a "sliding hatch", to create a vacuum above the sorting outlets and drop the objects by gravity.
The idea also consists in using a control / command unit to selectively control the movement of one or more links.
The advantage of a quick and selective evacuation of objects in sorting outlets is to increase the number of objects to be sorted and the conveying speed.
In addition, by arranging the sorting outlets under the links, the size of the conveyor is reduced and the secondary conveyors usually used to convey the objects to the sorted outlets eliminated.
The sorting equipment according to the invention can also have the following particularities:
- The conveyor includes a “comb” type stop on the chain designed to allow the sliding of the links and prevent the transverse movement of the objects on the links beyond the stop;
- The conveyor comprises for each sorting outlet a referral system designed to guide the sliding of a plurality of links arranged above the sorting outlet;
- each referral system causes the links to slide simultaneously;
- each referral system causes the progressive sliding of the links in the conveying direction;
the sorting equipment comprises another flat conveyor of the chain type with carrying links, the two conveyors being arranged symmetrically side by side in the conveying direction and arranged to convey each object onto the links of the two conveyors, and that the control / command unit is designed to control the sliding of the links of said other conveyor as a function of the sorting outlets into which the objects are to be sorted so that the links facing the two conveyors are slid simultaneously.

- Figures 5 and 6 schematically show in perspective a portion of the sorting equipment of Figure 4 at two successive time intervals for the evacuation of an object.
Description of the embodiment
The sorting equipment 1 according to the invention is suitable for equipping logistics sorting platforms or postal sorting centers for sorting objects 2 of the package, postal parcel, etc. type.
The sorting equipment 1 according to the invention here comprises a flat conveyor 3 of the chain type 5 with carrying links 6 as shown in FIG. 1 which extends in a certain conveying direction indicated by the arrow Fl above a plurality of sorting outlets 4 visible in FIGS. 4 to 6.
The chain 5 comprises a plurality of fixed bars 5A each extending horizontally and transversely to the conveying direction F1.
The links 6 are in the form of trays carrying objects 2 slidably mounted on one or more fixed bars 5A transversely to the conveying direction F1.
The conveyor 3 also includes a plurality of stops 7 fixed to the ends of the fixed bars 5A on one side of the chain.
The stops are here designed to allow the sliding of the links 6 and prevent the movement of the objects 2 beyond the stop 7 transversely to the conveying direction F1, in the manner of a "comb".
The blocking of objects by the stops thus accelerates the sliding "trap" effect of the links.
The links 6 are therefore movable between a deployed position PD in which they extend beyond the stop 7 above the sorting outlets 4 so as to convey the objects 2 in the conveying direction F1, and a retracted position PR in which the links 6 do not extend beyond the stop 7 to cause the objects 2 to fall into the sorting outlets 4, as shown in FIG. 1.
The sliding of the links 5 above the sorting outlets 4 therefore resembles here a telescopic deployment.
In the deployed position PD only the links 6 are located above the sorting outlets 4, as visible in FIGS. 4 to 6, so that the opening of the sorting outlets 4 corresponds to the amplitude of deployment of the links 6 beyond the stop 7.
In the retracted position PR, it is understood that the links 6 are retracted on the fixed bars 5A so as not to exceed the stops 7. This position makes it possible to create a vacuum above the sorting outlets 4 to cause the objects 2 to fall by gravity .
The stops 7 extend along the conveyor 3 in the conveying direction F1 so as to prevent any crossing of the objects 2 during a movement from the deployed position PD towards the retracted position PR.
The conveyor 3 further comprises a routing system 8, visible in FIG. 3, designed to guide the sliding of a plurality of links above each sorting outlet 4.
The referral system 8 makes it possible to slide the links simultaneously or gradually one after the other.
Each referral system 8 here comprises a support 8A arranged under the fixed bars 5A in which extend two first guide grooves 8B, 8B 'in the conveying direction F1 and a second guide groove 8C oblique in the conveying direction F1 which connects the first two guide grooves 8B, 8B 'at two branch points PE1, PE2, as shown in the figure
A switch 8D is also arranged at the branch PE1 furthest upstream relative to the conveying direction
Each sliding link 6 also includes a lug 8E, visible in the figures on its lower part designed to move in the first and second guide grooves 8B, 8B '.
Thus, during the movement of the links 6 in the conveying direction F1, the pins move selectively in the guide grooves 8B, 8B 'and 8C as a function of the ON or OFF position of the switch 8D.
The ON position of the switch 8D allows the lug 8E to move in the conveying direction F1 in a straight line to the switch system 8 of the next sorting outlet 4. The links 6 are then held in the deployed position to convey an object 2 carried to the next sorting outlet 4 in the conveying direction F1.
The OFF position meanwhile guides the lug 8E in the oblique guide groove 8C which opens onto the other first guide groove 8B 'so as to slide the links 6 and cause the object 2 to fall into the outlet sorting 4 appropriate.
The sorting equipment 1 also comprises a control / command unit 9, shown in FIG. 4, designed to control the switch 8E in the ON or OFF position.
The control / command unit 9 uses for this purpose sorting indication data stored in memory such as the list of sorting outputs 4 into which the objects 2 are to be sorted and the size of the objects 2 (width, length and thickness ).
The unit 9 is thus designed to command the movement of one or more links selectively to drop an object 2 in the appropriate sorting outlet 4.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the sorting equipment 1 according to the invention comprises another flat 3 'conveyor of the chain type with carrying links identical to the conveyor 3. The two conveyors 3 and 3' are then arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis A and side by side in the conveying direction F1.
The conveyed objects are thus cantilevered on the links of the two conveyors above the sorting outlets 4.
The control / command unit 9 is therefore here designed to control the movement of the links of the other conveyor 3 'as a function of the sorting outlets 4 into which the objects 2 are to be sorted.
